The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Ultrasound Technologist) is a clinical position that provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. The sonographer is also responsible for daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment. Under the direct supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, the sonographer exercises independent judgement in applying professional knowledge required to plan, prioritize and organize responsibilities in support of the clinical department. This position is safety.  

Must be a graduate of an approved school of Ultrasound Technology. An Associate Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is preferred. Must have current certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or be registry eligible and pass registry examination within one year of hire. Registry in one of the following: abdomen/small parts, OB/GYN, vascular required. Experience preferred. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
